…nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.

Ellen Nordick, owner and therapist at LNN Counseling and Consulting in North Carolina and New Jersey

Hi, I’m Ellen

I help women who feel weighed down or stuck in their lives due to anxiety, anger, or codependency.

There’s this thing in aviation called the one-in-sixty rule: if a plane strays off course by only one degree, after traveling 60 miles it will miss its target by one mile.

Doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up over time (and distance).

The good news is that you can make course corrections at any time to get you where you want to go.

I can help you figure out where you’ve lost your bearings. If you’d like some help figuring things out, let’s talk.

My Focus

I use clinically proven therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, and EMDR.

More importantly, I listen to, talk with, laugh with, challenge, question, support, encourage and educate you.

I will cheer you on every step of the way as you learn to harness your strengths and resources to get the results you want.

Education & Credentials

I received my MA. Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and am licensed to practice in North Carolina and New Jersey. I also have a MA.Ed. in School Library Media and a BA in History, both from William Paterson University in New Jersey.

I completed EMDR training in 2019 and trained in SAFE EMDR with the Personal Transformation Institute in 2023. Later that year, I became a certified EMDR therapist.

I LOVE helping people. This is the work I was made to do.
Anxiety kept me from pursuing my dreams for DECADES.
Don’t let that happen to you.
Get the help you need so you can start feeling better and be able to do the work that YOU’RE made to do.

On a deeply personal level…

I have always had a heart for helping others, but then trauma came and blew me out of the water.

Despair, depression, anxiety and the use/abuse of drugs and alcohol in an attempt to ease the pain are all a part of my story, as is my subsequent recovery.

I want you to know that if I can do it, you can do it too.
